Maryam, ragazza iraniana che ha studiato a Roma per fare cinema, vuole girare un documentario sulla senzatetto Anna. Tramite il suo ex professore, che la guida nel progetto, conosce un altro iraniano Hesam, che viene coinvolto come operatore. I due lavorano a stretto contatto riprendendo Anna per le strade di Roma e cercando di convincerla ad aprirsi sul trauma che la donna si tiene dentro. Nel frattempo, iniziano a frequentarsi e poi si innamorano, ma la gelosia e le insicurezze di Hesam complicano la relazione.
Maryam, an Iranian girl who studied filmmaking in Rome, wishes to create a documentary about the homeless Anna. Through her former professor, who guides her in the project, she gets to know another Iranian guy, Hesam, who is involved as an operator. The two work closely, filming Anna on the streets of Rome and trying to get her to open up about the trauma she holds within her. Meanwhile, they start dating and eventually fall in love, but Hesam's jealousy and insecurities complicate the relationship.

The Wasteland
Una remota fabbrica di mattoni produce mattoni alla vecchia maniera. Nella fabbrica lavorano molte famiglie di etnie diverse e il capo sembra mantenere il controllo nella risoluzione dei loro problemi. Il quarantenne Lotfollah, nato in loco, è il supervisore della fabbrica e fa da intermediario tra gli operai e il capo.
Il capo chiede a Lotfollah di riunire tutti gli operai davanti al suo ufficio. Vuole parlare con loro della chiusura della fabbrica. Lotfollah è interessato solo a proteggere Sarvar, la donna di cui è innamorato da tempo.
A remote brick business manufactures bricks in an archaic manner. Many families of various nationalities work in the factory, and the boss appears to be the key to resolving their problems. Lotfollah, a forty-year-old manufacturing supervisor born on-site, acts as a link between the other workers and the employer.
The boss made Lotfollah gather all the workers in front of his office. He wishes to speak with them about the factory's closure. Lotfollah's only concern now is protecting Sarvar, the lady he has been in love with for a long time.

Il giorno in cui, alle 12, dovrà recarsi in tribunale con il marito per concludere il divorzio, Sadaf, a causa dell'odio che nutre nei confronti del marito, decide di riprodurre a casa il video del giorno delle nozze, di indossare l'abito da sposa e di vestire il figlio da sposo e, infine, di staccare il tubo del camino del riscaldamento dopo aver preso i sonniferi nel tentativo di non svegliarsi più. Nel frattempo, si presenta un problema e si reca in cucina. Al suo ritorno, si accorge che il figlio non è in casa. Esce per cercarlo, perché il ragazzo aveva detto di voler andare a scuola. Si reca quindi a scuola del figlio, ma non lo trova. Sadaf sta peggiorando di momento in momento a causa dell'assunzione delle pillole e torna a casa amareggiata. Ma all'improvviso vede il bambino in casa con l'uomo della porta accanto. On the day that she has to go to court with her husband at 12 o’clock to finalise her divorce, Sadaf, because of her hatred for him, decides to play her wedding-day video at home, wear her wedding dress and dress her son in a groom suit. She also disconnects the heater chimney pipe after taking the sleeping pills in order not to wake up after. Meanwhile, a problem arises for her and she goes to the kitchen. On her return, she discovers that her son is not at home. She follows him and attempts to find him since the boy said he wanted to go to school. Sadaf even goes to her child's school, but he is not there. Sadaf’s health is worsening because of the pills and returns home dejected. However, she notices the boy at home with the man next door. Her son had not gone out, he went to a neighbour's house to seek help since he believed the heater was broken. Sadaf's plans are discovered by the neighbour, who puts everything back in its proper place. Sadaf, who regrets her deeds, has finally fallen asleep, her son has cuddled her, and the time for the court hearings passed.

Una troupe di attori di Teheran viene espulsa dal proprio teatro e rimane senza casa. Commossa dal destino degli "operai della gioia", come vengono chiamati gli improvvisatori di Siah Bâzi, Ariane Mnouchkine li invita al Théâtre du Soleil. Shadi è l'unica giovane attrice di questa troupe che ha fatto ridere tanti iraniani. Sta per lasciare l'Iran per la prima volta.
